Nail-biting

I have a nail-biting disorder and it was not easy to overcome this. Sometimes, I am unconsciously doing it whenever I am under deep pressure. As far as I can remember, nail-biting has been my coping mechanism since I was a teenager. Way back in High School, I was badly bullied by my classmates because of how I look. Whenever they were calling me names, I tended to find a spot outside of the classroom and started doing this habit. Up until now, I still cannot remove it out of my daily pattern.
I tried my best to research on what to do to avoid it. I engaged myself playing olleyball, dancing and even tried to top the class by studying hard but still, I failed to get over it. There was something about the trauma that I experienced that forbade me to remove this out my usual routine.
Details - Bowler's Hat (Forever 21), Shirt and Shorts (Giordano), Watch (Casio), Belt (Beverly Hills Polo Club) and Shoes (Zalora).

Sometimes, in every disorder there are strong unexplained emotions we do not know. Instead of offending other people's uncommon behaviors, it will be easy if we will gently ask questions and understand where he is coming from. As for me, nail biting has been a part of my daily routine for now and I am deeply hoping that I will remove it in my everyday regimen as soon as I can.

Also, one of my favorite brands, Giordano is currently having a huge basic sale until July. You can buy the shorts that I am wearing for as low as P999. Also, aside from this Navy blue shorts, there are tones of colors to choose from. See you at the stores!

  3. I have a lot of students who happens to be on the same position as you are. You'll overcome that soon. If you really wanna remove it, surround yourself with positive people and let them correct your disorder. Let them tell you to stop doing it and soon, you'll avoid it yourself. We all have mechanisms on how we cope with things and that's yours and just think it's okay.

Anyway, you always have lovely ootds. There is always something better about you, just like your posts :)

  4. I used to bite my nails and skin near the nails too but I forgot how I managed to overcome the habit though. Perhaps it was when I was busy doing something really fun like surfing the net.

  7. I love your OOTD, Sef. Not sure if you noticed it but you're wearing DLSU and Ateneo colors. Re the nail biting, you might find this helpful, my cousin used to put hand creams all the time so he'd not want to bite his nails because they'd taste like hand creams.

  8. I guess some habits are borne from our experience in your case nail biting. I think it's ok as long as it doesn't bother people. Nice outfit by the way.

  10. I never really thought of nail-biting as an issue to worry about, but i see where you're coming from and i empathize with you. Bulling is a problem the world over and kids struggle to deal with such circumstances

  13. I love the simplicity yet sophisticated look, Sef! :) Anyhow, my son has a nail-biting disorder, too. However, we were able to stop it in an early age. We showed him videos of what happens inside the stomach if he continues biting his nails. Thankfully, few weeks after, he stopped. I hope you find an effective solution, soon.

  14. Simple yet cool Sef. I think nail biting is more rampant that we actually realize, even adults do that whenever their in deep thoughts.
