Overly Competitive.

When I was a kid, I am always looking forward to success. I needed to be triumphant in and outside of the classroom to receive a reward or two. Being bribed by my parents liven up my studying years to perform well and avoid being mediocre. I have to be honest but it was never easy being competitive. Admit it or not, it will always make you perfectionist. The past years had been a mixture of fun and frustrations, tears and blood and yes or no. It was a rollercoaster ride but I went out happily.
One thing I have learned in life was people will never have the same heart, same passion and same goals as yours. It was heartbreaking at first but then moving on, studying further and honing my skills were the best aids I can do. Being frustrated all the time will never lead me anywhere. It will always be okay to be sad today but we need to let go of the bad things the next day.
The only thing I wanted to learn was to loosen up and accept things even if the results are not in my favor. I do not wish to learn it overnight but want to gradually unlock these skills in the near future. So on this day, I will start everything slowly and hopefully everything will turn out positively.

  1. I'm not "overly competitive" as you and I consider myself as just "slightly competitive". Haha! I was not the achiever kind of student back then academically though. But I had few winnings from the competitions I joined in feature and essay writings. Lol.

  2. I guess we're all competitive - it's just that it's in varying levels. While we should be always giving our best in everything we do, competition gives us that extra push not to dishearten us but to remind us to always be the best in our field. You compete not just with other people, but with yourself as well. There's always room at the top and I think we ought to make the most of our careers and our talents while we still can. So, I guess you could say that I like competition.

    1. I like your comment. We compete because we want to improve ourselves. I think it is all about the mind but again, thanks for you awesome comment, Russ.

  3. Totally agree with Russ -- we are all competitive, we just differ in levels.
Love the laid back style on this post, though. Totally digging that white sandals! :)

  4. Casio is just getting better and better, aren't they? They used to be...well, not so fashionable (at least not the ones released in the Phils back then). But they've been improving on the styles in the past years.

  5. I always believe that if you compare yourself to anyone, there would always be something you are good at and something you that the other person is good at. Life has its way to balance things up. Great outfit again for this post.

  7. dude, I feel like I haven't seen you in a long time! There's nothing wrong with being competitive, but you really do have to loosen up every once in a while so it doesn't get too crazy.

  8. Competition is already conditioned to every individual depending on how he handles it. We are all born to "compete", that is, to survive or else we never have satisfaction in life if we won't excel in our own world.

    1. Hi Melanie, that's what happened to me. I also hope that you will also teach them their limits so as it will not be destructive on their end.

  11. I'm competitive only in certain areas in my life. I've learned to just accept that I'm great at some things and not at others. I'm more chill now. :)

  12. I am not overly competitive -- or should I say I am not competitive at all! I know it's prolly a bad thing. I'm your complete opposite. I should be a little competitive and you should need to loosen up a little.

  13. That combination rocks for sure! The cardigan and watch make you look so high class and dandy. The shorts and slips are also very cool!

  14. I am competitive, but I don't want to show it. Anyway, I really like Casio. It's very affordable, I don't mind if it's not that fashionable as long as it serves its purpose.
