As far as I can remember, my blog was less than one-year old when I had my first style blogging talk. It was a referral from a friend to DLSU-Dasma and from right there, they contacted me immediately. I felt ecstatic since it was my first time. I never thought that it will be as nerve-wracking as it was and as I went ahead, everything went smoothly. From that day up until now, I had my 5th Style Blogging talk and for the second time around, it was held in one of my favorite schools which was PUP. Aside from me, there were several speakers from different field of social media and entertainment who came along and shared their knowledge too.
In relation to my previous talks, the seminar I conducted was not just about Style Blogging but its business too. Meaning, how fashion writing can succeed and earn pennies and dimes. It was hard at first because there was another broad subject that needed to be injected with Fashion Blogging. Good thing, my friend McRichard Paglinawan of LionHearTV helped me elaborate my subject making it more senseful and interactive.
I was picked up by Nicki and Shiela nearby PUP, 2 superb student coordinators from OL Access. As I entered the hall, I was welcomed warmly and happily by the students. I started my talk awkwardly because most of the listeners were quiet at first. Good thing, as I went along and kept on blabbing, everyone engaged with the entire scene. I am glad that there were a lot of questions being thrown to me and good thing I was able to answer all of it (hopefully). :)
As I ended my seminar, they had me to do a "groufie". This was actually one of my favorite part of the seminar. I am overjoyed that everyone gathered together in the center and had our group shot (the coordinators owned the iPad).
The event will not be possible without the coordinators who organized the OL Access Seminar. Also, to all of the students who came, listened and interacted, thank you! Since, I am really overwhelmed with this event, I will add up tons of pictures!
Seriously, these people were one of the nicest and friendliest people I have met so far. I am really thankful for this opportunity to share what I knew in terms of style blogging. Again, thank you PUP-CommArts for everything. I had fun. Hoping for my 6th! :)
Thanks for dropping by! Don't forget to leave a comment! I love to read it from you! :)

DeleteNice blogging talk. I was wondering how you're earning pennies and dimes with your blog. I receive a lot of stuff for reviews but only less than 1% are paying me to do a post for them. What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa, can you please send me a PM or email? I am too shy to answer it through this comment box section eh. Thank you. :)

DeleteI never knew you could really earn from fashion blogging, cause of course it also is an expensive hobby as you need to always upgrade your clothes and accessories just to be in the trend.
ReplyDeleteI somehow disagree on the last part, joy. Sorry. I guess, clothing should never be that expensive. As long as you can carry yourself no matter how much are your clothes, then it will be okay.:)
DeleteSuch a wonderful experience if you ask me - congrats to you. It is always nice to be happy with what you do and be passionate on it. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so true Aisha. Thank you! :)
DeleteCongrats! It's always nerve-wrecking to speak in-front of a huge audience but if you love it, it's very fun to do!
ReplyDeleteThe feeling was superb, actually. Thanks for dropping by, Precious. :)
